NVIDIA AI ENTERPRISE FOR HOLOSCAN
Holoscan for
the long run
Your robot, medical device, or scientific instrument needs a plan beyond its first deployment. Build that plan with enterprise support, maintained software branches, and a lifecycle that fits your product.

RELEASE BRANCHES, EXPLAINED
Choose your pace
Plan your maintenance
Production Branches (PB) support regular upgrades. Long-Term Support (LTS, also called LTSB) provides a longer stable baseline. Long-Term Whole Stack (LWS) extends the lifecycle across the IGX software stack.
Standard application-branch lifecycles and the IGX whole-stack program, measured from branch release
| Plan your deployment | PBProduction Branch | LTS / LTSBLong-Term Support | LWSLong-Term Whole Stack |
|---|---|---|---|
| Best fit | PBProducts with regular software upgrades | LTSApplications needing a stable, multiyear baseline | LWSIGX systems with long service lives |
| Support window | PB9 months per branch | LTS3 years for designated branches | LWSUp to 10 years per branch |
| Security updates | PBMonthly | LTSQuarterly | LWSQuarterly, with critical bug fixes |
| New branch cadence | PBAbout every 6 months | LTSAbout every 2.5 years | LWSEvery 2–3 years |
PB and LTS figures follow the application software lifecycle policy; LWS follows the NVAIE-IGX program. Use your selected branch’s support matrix and end-of-support date to plan deployment.
LONG-TERM WHOLE STACK
The runtime is part
of a bigger system
A maintained Holoscan deployment depends on the software beneath the application, too.
On certified IGX systems, NVAIE-IGX brings Holoscan, AI libraries, drivers, and the operating system into a coordinated support program. LWS holds a stable software baseline while delivering security and critical fixes.

Match the branch
to the product
- Start with the supported stack
Select the Holoscan version, hardware, and dependencies listed for your enterprise branch.
- Keep your application modular
Use the published SDK as a dependency for your operators. External modifications to the SDK fall outside the Holoscan LWS program.
- Check each module’s coverage
HoloHub-hosted community operators and examples use their project support channels. For other modules, confirm coverage with the publisher.
FROM DEVELOPMENT TO DEPLOYMENT
Make support part
of your product plan
- 01
Define the lifecycle
Map the product’s field life, validation effort, and update windows. Decide how often you can qualify a new software baseline.
- 02
Select and validate
Confirm the enterprise branch, hardware configuration, and entitlement with NVIDIA or your solution partner. Validate your complete Holoscan pipeline on that baseline.
- 03
Maintain in the field
Schedule maintenance releases, regression-test your application, and plan the next branch transition before support ends.
